My new 68” D3 Z7 ST ski is amazing!  By the end of my first set, I was skiing as well as I was skiing on my previous ski, but with less effort.  The talk about the ski’s turning symmetry in not hype.  It turns very consistently on both sides.  I also notice that the ski is very tolerant of my body position and the fin setting.  I’ve yet to ‘wheelie’ a turn, despite my tendency to drift my center of gravity toward the back of my ski during a pass.

I believe this is the best ski D3 has ever designed.  I am confident that I will be running personal bests this year on this ski.

Cheers!

I got to ride my new Z7 ST today. People will like this ski. I really notice the flat spot change. It’s almost hard to fall out the back, the tip just stays down and keeps moving. More ski in the water too so it carves like crazy, but doesn't get stuck. I ran right through 38 and am not even in ski shape yet.

The new Z7 ST stays higher in the turn. No matter how much angle I grab, I am able to stay with it thru the first wake. I think for a lot of skiers this is going to be a huge benefit especially for those who are prone to not deal well with “load” out of the buoy. The ski delivers incredible intensity and responsiveness.

“Just rode the Z7 ST this weekend and I really like it!!!!!
I started out with my X5, then switched to the Z7 ST.
The most noticeable attributes:
- Good acceleration across the wakes (better than X5 almost like Nomad),
- Noticeably better carry out
- Best of all was that the ski finished the turn putting me in position easier to start the
work zone sooner.
I have a Nomad RC. Worked with it last year but just couldn't get comfortable.
My Nomad seems to ride flatter than I like and I had trouble initiating the turn.
I just couldn't get the turn-ability as compared to the X5 - guess I prefer a deeper riding ski.
I thought the Z7 ST brought out the best characteristics of both the Nomad and X5.
Not as flat as the Nomad, not as deep as the X5.
So in the end, it was everything you said it was!! For me, an improvement.
I think a few tweaks on the fin and a little warmer water and it will be my number 1 ski.”

My first two ski rides of the year have been on the new ski you sent me.

It seems to be all the things that your website describes: more stable, quiet, fast, symmetric turns, and improved carry out.

I was able to get on it and start making passes right away without any real adjustment.

I used the stock fin setting that you suggested from the Z7 as you suggested.

I'm very impressed as well as the people that have seen me ski from the boat.

You've done it again!

I'll email you again in awhile and let you know of further impressions.

Thanks for everything,

I purchased a D3 Nomad ski in 2009 and have enjoyed a fairly difficult NZ season (due to weather) but have just competed in the NZ Nationals recording a first in SM1 Slalom (men’s 35 to 45 years). So thanks to the team at D3 for once again making a fantastic water ski. D3 skis also claimed first in SM2 slalom (men’s 45 to 55) second in SM3 slalom and first in SM4 slalom. Iain Bill will send some pictures and information soon.
